Beach Morning Glory Flower

The Beach Morning Glory that's the one that lives where nobody else can, right there on the hot sandy beach. It's a miracle plant, I think.

It is a creeping vine, it does not go up, it goes out. It makes its home right where the waves almost touch, and its long runners are what we call the "Railroad Vine", because it just runs away across the sand.

The leaves are thick and rubbery, like they are full of water to survive the sun, and sometimes they have that funny notch at the end, like a "goat's foot" print.
