Black-Eyed Susans
Black-Eyed Susans! These are the flowers you see everywhere in summer, like, they just take over. They're not some delicate thing you got to fuss with. They're big, bright, and they shout. They got these pretty yellow-orange petals, like sunshine, but their name comes from that big, dark center, almost black. It looks like a little eye lookin' at you. That's how you know them. You see them mostly out in the fields or by the road, not always in a fancy garden. They're tough, you know? They don't need much water or care, and they keep blooming for a long time. They just make everything look happy and full of sunshine, even when the days start getting shorter. Very simple, very cheerful flower.
