The importance of breakfast, is it even important?
Breakfast
Almost anywhere in the world, we have breakfast in the morning, to break the fast (breakfast). It's funny how everywhere in the world the concept of breakfast is different. Myself I live in the Netherlands and everyone here at least had chocolate sprinkles (hagelslag) once in his life. All though I'm in Croatia right now we always bring a pack of hagelslag to put on our bread. It's a very Dutch thing to do.
As a big fan of traveling, I love how the concept is different everywhere and I always try different local things. Getting baguettes in France isn't the same as in Holland and getting your bacon and eggs in Dublin will never be the same as eating them in my hometown. Culture is a beautiful thing, I will always have an open mind for new foods everywhere around the world.
But is breakfast an important thing to eat in the morning? People all around me say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Multiple studies have shown that in fact, breakfast is important to start your day off. But when did we start having breakfast? Did we even have it when there was no fridge? Myself I'm not a strong believer in breakfast. There are several days in the week where I don't have it because I use intermittent fasting to lose fat while cutting. I found out that the studies that shown breakfast is important, are all sponsored by "Dr. Kelloggs" who so happens to be the founder of the Kellogg company, the biggest company behind cereals in the world. Strange isn't it? If you think about it humans a thousand years ago had to hunt in order to eat something. In all honesty, I can say that my concentration is a lot better when I didn't have breakfast versus when I had. My performance at work is better and the hunger I feel usually is just a sign of dehydration. I'm also losing a lot of body fat when I'm fasting and eat within a certain time frame. I try to consume all my calories between 1 pm and 7 pm. This way my body has more time to burn body fat efficiently.
If you're a firm believer in having breakfast, but you also want to lose some weight. You should definitely consider reading these scientific references about intermittent fasting and breakfast in general. If you don't want to read all of them fitness YouTuber Jeff Nippard made a very informative video about this topic.
