Bayern 4-2 Flamengo: My Thoughts

Hi everyone. I watched the Bayern Munich vs Flamengo match yesterday and I have to say something about it.

I'm from Tunisia and I don't really support any of these teams. But I wanted to watch Flamengo because they beat Espérance Tunis before. I was curious to see how they would perform against a big European club like Bayern.

What happened in the match

Bayern was good but Flamengo fought like warriors. This was historic - first time these two teams ever played each other officially. At Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, what a stage for this battle.

The goals came fast and dramatic:

  • Own goal by Pulgar gave Bayern early lead. Unlucky start for Flamengo
  • Then Gerson scored beautiful goal to equalize. The captain showing class
  • Harry Kane got his first goal. That guy is just too good, 40 goals this season
  • Jorginho converted penalty to make it 2-2. Flamengo was still in the fight
  • Kane scored again with thunderbolt from 25 yards. Impossible to stop that
  • Goretzka sealed it with fourth goal. Game over but Flamengo never gave up

I watched until the end even when it was 4-2 because Flamengo never stops fighting.

My real opinion

Look I know some people will say Flamengo lost badly or whatever. But truth is they made Bayern work for every goal. They came back twice against one of the best teams in the world. That takes serious heart.

Kane was just unstoppable yesterday. Even Bayern bench players are world class. But Flamengo boys - Gerson, Jorginho, the whole team - they showed Brazilian football spirit.

When I see how they pressed Bayern high, how they created chances even when losing, how they never gave up... I have to admit Flamengo showed good level. Now I understand how they beat Espérance.

What this means for us

Flamengo came into this match with 11 games unbeaten. They beat Chelsea 3-1 in group stage. They topped their group. They belong here with the big boys.

Yes Bayern advanced to play PSG in quarter-finals. But Flamengo showed the world that South American football deserves respect. They made Bayern earn this victory.

Maybe this match will inspire our young players. Sometimes you learn more from fighting battles like this than winning easy games.

I have to respect Flamengo after watching this match. They lost 4-2 but they fought against one of the best teams in the world, after seeing how they beat the Tunisian team Espérance, now I see they have real quality.
