RE: When I leave the US Senate, I am still going to be black

Interesting and thought provoking as ever! Is the centrist view just too dull in this world which craves extreme soundbites and conspiracy theories. Quality leadership can go unnoticed, rather like a good referee in football (soccer).
On black lives matter - I think that the concept has been sufficiently hijacked as to have maimed it - all lives matter, obviously, and none more than others. I notice skin colour like everyone else does. I want to know about their background, culture, their experience of life, whether black white pink or purple. It is one of the great enjoyments - to learn and be able to celebrate with and for other cultures.

#BlackLivesMatter is claimed to be set up to,

The Creation of a Movement
I created #BlackLivesMatter with Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi, two of my sisters, as a call to action for Black people after 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was post-humously placed on trial for his own murder and the killer, George Zimmerman, was not held accountable for the crime he committed. It was a response to the anti-Black racism that permeates our society and also, unfortunately, our movements.

Is the invisible hand of the Open Society Foundations behind #BlackLivesMatter?
