Maybe Wednesday and following will be better FBA, and the world will start to wear those glasses at last - the ones that show the Orwellian nature of the system and how language is used to obfuscate and confuse: Ministry of 'Aggression, Manipulation and War' as Defence & Security; 'Brainwashing' dressed up as Education & Learning; 'Sentimentality and fake emotion' as Love and of course 'Slavery' dressed up as Freedom & Choice :).
We only need about 15% to put them on.
IF drumpf puts some folks in jail the non-beliebers will get some religion.
What gets me is that in 1887 this book was the talk of the day.
Today nobody thinks it's even possible.
I also think that the subtlety of the lie is so great that it has been internalised. Thus there are folk who have the glasses on the outside - pointing to deceit and hypocrisy in the world around, yet never turn their gaze inwards to see how their own behaviour, belief systems, habits etc reflect these dynamics. The campaigner for freedom of speech for example, might be a tyrant at home who allows no questioning of authority from wife and kids. The wannabe 'world reformer' may completely ignore the fact that she is blaming the world for her own inner pain and seeking gratification for it.
The layers of deceit are many and a half-glance doesn't cut it at all. I think most of humanity is sitting on the fence because even though the external is rotten and vile and they can see it, the gaze hasn't turned inwards to extract the poison that has been absorbed since childhood. It's a massive individual undertaking and without full and utter self-responsibility ('MYOB, Freedom, I Won't' and acceptance of this in others ie M'MY'OB (context) :) at both the external AND the internal, it never quite slots into place and will always feel somewhat discordant.
I'm still to read "LOOKING BACKWARD From 2000 to 1887" By Edward Bellamy. This link is a pdf - easier to read and manage a large doc than reading it all online - and I've now d/loaded it. But look at the book 1984 - that Reality has in some ways, been superseeded by the current Control Freaks, yet all that's done is point to this in a resigned and morose 'well-wtf-can-we-do-anyway' kinda way. Humanity has been taught 'learned helplessness'.
I think a tipping point will come and when it does there will be a tsunami and very few will have seen it coming.....it is coming.............
Most people will not read their way to freedom.
They will get their clues all at once.
That will likely be ugly while they work out for themselves that ruling others with force is a dead end.
Lucky for us we get to take our time to grok the full meaning.
