RE: FreeDOS Project: Then and Now
@theguruasia,
I am not a software engineer, but I had computers since the ZX81 and have always found it a nice feeling to be in control of your computer, even if you don't have much knowledge or intelligence to grasp everything. And the DOS os was something like that. I liked the idea that you could put a graphic user-shell around it like windows 3.11 and windows 95.
I wish there would come some new free graphic shell that would be as good as Mac or Win7 instead of the ugly and unfriendly linuxes. I don't know if DOS should go to 64 bit then, but if so, I think a 64 bit DOS should certainly be made, so we the world could finally enjoy a totally free and user-friendly and understandable operating system for our computers. As after half a century of 'home computers' we still have to put up with the big ugly greedy moneycrunchers like Microsoft and Apple or else put up with Linux or BSD that are not fit for simple folks.
There should be a free and easy and powerful operating system, understandable and controlable by everybody in the world. I can't understand why we don't have that yet!
Cheers to u 2
@pagandance,
Wow that's big and very interesting! Yeah I also heat that Linux UIs, for me it's complicated! I will join the FB group first! Then I think a little research work is there! I assure I have never did DOS programming, but we can learn nah :D
Cheers~
