RE: "Bobrick, go get the bunny!” Day 608: 5 Minute Freewrite: Prompt: posted

Well, well, well! You do have a horror side to you after all! I loved this story! I love the twist at the end and the insinuation that cuddling cute furry animals can get you killed. I should take heed, maybe!

Oh no, no, no, the take-away from this story is not that holding a bunny could get you killed - and yes I know you know that. :) I hope nobody imagines the protagonist is my evil alter-ego. I really do own that "Sons of Grace" book and have bought copies to give away to others -- even though I'm not sure about these reformed felons -- I would like to believe they really did get rehabilitated ("Redeemed") and no longer need to be locked up to keep them from harming others. I also want to believe that forgiveness is better than vigilante justice or administering justice in a court of law. The trouble is, those we forgive may not have apologized or repented, and they need to STOP HURTING others and develop a conscience. I would not pull the switch on the electric chair and I wouldn't swing the axe or let go the rope to lynch even my sister's killer. But I just had a very long and very frustrating week, so I decided to channel some darkness and imagine how it would feel. I much prefer happy endings, reformations, redemptions, mercy, and compassion.
Sorry. I will go walk the dogs despite the mosquito wars - those things never fail to find the one molecule of flesh that didn't get covered in Deet. I will die of Deet-induced cancer before I die of West Nile. And the bites... the bites... the buzz of the lone mosquito in the night, tormenting the would-be sleeper....
Did I mention this was a grueling week?
Thanks so much for reading and commenting, @goat-girlz!

I'm sorry you are having such a hard week! I totally understand the need to let the dark out occasionally. I also love the idea of redemption most of the time. I guess the dark days when we yearn for revenge are a good reminder of why forgiveness is so powerful. Have a restful weekend and I hope next week is easier. I'm sending you virtual hugs.
