Right there with you on the not going out and bugging people. I hate to do it on the phone or even over email. But as a freelancer I need to do that once in a while to get business. Totally out of my comfort zone.
But maybe think of those conversations as the audition? A change in your point of view can make all the difference - wishing you luck on your call back!
But, in an audition, they've said, "yes, please come talk to us." That's the big difference to me.
