Great mom you had. I also hated (and still do) kissing uncles and aunts who were friends of my parents and not even family.

I prefer a handshake instead by being kissed by strangers. I do not see the need of it but handshakes are no longer used.

My eldest refused to kiss her teacher and my granny. It made them angry, not me. It is a bad thing to force children/people into these "habits" and cross their personal borders.
