Friends are special.
They have your back when no one else will.
They stand with you through tough times and celebrate with you when everything is going well.
Some folks have discredited the importance of friendship.
Maybe they've had some bad experiences in the past.
Nevertheless, it does not remove the value of friendship.
I guess they just picked the wrong set of friends because there are friends that uplifts you rather than being you down.
