A Weekend Plan

He just finished his duty. He gathered his stuff and said goodbye to everyone. It was the last day before the weekend. He did not tell anyone about his plans. But, only his employer knows that it was his last day before a week of vacation. He drove back home in an urgency. It seemed like he was racing everyone in the street.

An hour later, he was home. His wife has prepared his bag. It was a pleasant surprise as this is was what is on his mind all the way home. He thanked her and quickly went to check if anything is missing in his bag. He checked and found that everything was there and he saw a small picture on the side of the bag. He flipped it and it was his wife carrying his 3 year old daughter Emma. He returned everything as it was in the bag and closed it. As soon as he stood up, he saw his wife staring at him during this whole time. He said, I was just checking to see... and she stopped him with saying.. You said it is going to be a safe trip right? He replied: Don't worry about it.. It will all go well.

He took his bag and gave a quick hug to his wife and daughter and said: I'm not going to be there for long. It is just a day or two. His daughter was waving at him until he was out of her sight with the thought that he will come back with a present for her.

He drove to the yellowish field and saw his friends preparing the air-balloon. The sky was clear, with a little bit of wind. Everything was almost ready for them to take off and they were trying to drag the balloon to a place where it could take off. He went there and held it from the side to help them drag it.

It was a great weekend for him. Although, they haven't flown for too long. But, they spend most of the day talking and decided to leave early in the morning. On his way back home, he bought 4 short story books for his daughter and as soon as he reached, he promised to read her a book each weekend. She was so excited that she was getting to choose which book and spend more time with her dad on the next few weekends.
