Scary Dreams?
Scary?
Did you have a nightmare?
I can't remember the last time I had so my answer is: No, only day merries.
Day merries?
Plenty for him to think about.
How come there aren't nightmares?
It's simple.. if you refuse to think over whatever worries or scares you, if you try to distract yourself, the brain will think at night.. at the time you believe you are safe and can sleep since the brain doesn't care about you and your need for nightrest but wants to digest and find a way (reasons, answers, explanations, a way out or in....).
Putting your head to rest means finally time to do so. Not being distracted, and these are the moments we "face" our worst fears. Why not during the day? Really, too busy to take care of yourself, your health?
Ever saw a nightmare without sound? It's boring.
Ever saw it during the day, a sunny day and without sound? It's even more boring. Actually, if you do so you figure out that most horror films are poorly produced. It's the sound, the fact that it's during nighttime, the dark, we watch. It helps to add all that extra is needed to make it good. If it all falls away, there's rarely anything scary left. It's why the light burns during the night (no monster underneath the bed or in the closet during daytime).
The mind doesn't fool us, but we try to fool our minds. Unfortunately, it will not work on the long term.
The brain will send you messages, stories, hints, whatever is needed to wake you up and make you act.
Act?
Indeed. Nightmares only disappear if you are willing to face them and act, change and make the best out of your life. You'll see if you do that they disappear, and one day you will wake up and say: I slept sound and safe, no nightmares, merry days only

Prompt: scary dreams by @freewritehouse
Have you read Kafka's Metamorphosis? It's like waking up in a dream, within a dream, as a horrible insect. It could be a terrible day in Gregor's life.
You can count pelicans before you go to sleep; 964 is a good number to fall asleep before you finish.

If the mosquitoes aren't too loud I could count the pelicans or better search for those who left. Mosquitoes are horrible insects. What if Gregor is one of them.. and an insect, not a pelican?
It sucks to be an insect...
I imagine how Kafka (the Hunger Artist) must have felt when he wrote stories with such expressive power; you can feel the agony. Even when he's describing absurd stories, you connect from the first line. It's like constantly falling down a never-ending slide.
Hi @wakeupkitty ,You've already seen this post, look at it, it was written by a very sincere person whom Sofia and I have a lot of affection for.

Regarding @wakeupkitty and this post, I think she has already read it, she must be blushing and does NOT want to be noticed, well I doubt it hahaha, but she knows that this profile fits her personality very well and I and not a flattering man.
You are a great guy, a lot in the lottery and an angel!
Noticed or not, you are right, this fits.
You are not a flattering man in the way many or, but in a way you are since you see what shows.
By now you know I did and thanks for leaving the link. It's appreciated and also: that's what friends are for! You are a great friend @dim753

Thank you so much for your kind words. Sofia and I are very fond of Felipe. This boy is anything but ordinary. He's a human being who wins people's hearts.
Things come out at night even though you managed to push them away during the day.
They do if you don't take the time to think about whatever is in your mind during the day. It's good to take the time to reflect during the day, write it down and ask: what can I do to make the best out of it.
How do you do that? I would love to read how others do it and pick out what works for me. I think I'm going to prepare some notes before my therapy next week
I don't have nightmares since my mother died, I say that she protects me even in my dreams, and I think it's quite feasible.
I believe you are also able to think during the day. Only if you hide, ignore and are not willing to face situations, feelings, and issues. this will happen during the night and can result in nightmares.
You are protected which is good to know.
