I haven't played Sims 4 yet...but I was really into Sims 3 several years ago. Many of these character creation tips were ones that I would often use to make the game more fun...but my favorite part was building the houses and decorating them around the personalities and life goals of each sim or family of sims. I would lose interest very quickly...if the house were not a perfect match to the sim!

It's not going to be easy :D house building and making family's for them and making up stories are my favorite part!!
I don't do sim world budgets very well...LOL. Ultimate decorating sprees are so much fun when using the money cheat...especially after downloading new goodies from TSR. Sometimes I would pretend they inherited fancy houses and were asset rich...cash poor...just so that I could decorate with complete freedom. I also enjoyed modding the heck out of everything and taking screenshots to machinimas. Wow...I just realized that I really do miss playing sims!
You need to play again!!! It is so much fun, and it will help fill your fun meter!!! :D
