ahmadmanga's Gaming's Daily #5: SakuraGame Weird Business Stratgy & Possible Reasons
Today's collection steemit #gaming posts isn't as big as other days as I took time to write an actual post with it.

Salam (Peace)
Most of the games released by this Chinese publisher are cheaply priced around $2 and always come with debut discount of %40. So when a new game comes out you can buy it with $1.2.
The thing is, the only criticism I have for their games is their terrible English translation, as I said in my Tricolour Lovestory Review and that isn't a problem for Chinese players (the publisher's primary audience). Other than that they are video games that could be easily sold for $10 or more and no one would complain.
Another thing is their 'Promotions'... the recent game they released Fable of the Sword, comes with limited time offer "Buy the game before the 15th of Feb, play it for 2 hours and get free 2 random game keys", some of the free games they give cost more than the price of their own game, it's not the first time they do something like this. This strategy works. As a proof, even I bought the game.
Possible Reasons?
They think if it's cheap with added promotions, more and more people will buy it even if they don't want it that much. I think this works somewhat but I don't think it's enough.
The value of $1 in China is different so they sell in a price affordable by their Chinese audience. They could put a different price tag depending on the country but maybe they're content with selling with a low price to outsiders.
They're depending on Steam Trading Cards sales, you see... since the games cost less than $2 and come with interesting anime backgrounds. The game cards can be valuable, people might be buying the game gambling that they'll profit from selling its cards. (There's a good chance they will.)
Maybe they don't profit much (or at all) this way, but they consider Downloads & Play time more valuable. This will increase reputation as publisher faster than usual (But if they really want reputation, they should get better translators) and when they publish an actual 'quality' game with higher price. There would be sure players more than willing to buy it.
Can you think of another possible reason?
Below the usual, #gaming posts I've liked section.
(Didn't have time to read many posts today)
Around The #Gaming Tag

- Is it time to retire the double jump gameplay mechanic? where @retro-room explores a question I didn't realize I have. I agree with what he said about Double Jumping and where it should be acceptable. Sometimes it feels platform games just put it because it's a popular feature.

- "Under Night In-Birth Exe Late" Review by @braini. I like the post and the game seems interesting... It was developed by a company that shines in Fighting games... worth a read.
@sarasate's "Game addiction is becoming an official disease."
@mydream's "6 Cool Games That Can not Be Played Anymore."
@k4k4s198's "5 Games That Will 'Pay You' If Played."
@gamezine's "Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom Gameplay."
I'll probably make more of the daily posts so tell me if you liked the style or if you think it needs changing.

wow very nice steemit post
I wish you take some time to read my post & give me a comment that makes me know you read it. Some people don't like users who goes everywhere and post "low quality" comments and they might flag you if they see you more than once.
Thanks for giving a place for my gaming post in your post.
Thanks for checking it out.
