RE: Dragon Age: Inquisition (PS4) - first impressions
I used to love the Baulder's Gate games on the PS2. Those were some of my favorite ones. I am also a fan of resource gathering games. I used to do that a lot when I was playing WoW. I'd fly all over the place mining minerals or gathering herbs. There was something really calming about it for me. I hate it when games don't let you just get on with it. I tried playing Witcher II and the cutscene then mild action, then cut scene beginning turned me off. I never got much more than thirty minutes worth of gameplay into it.
cutscenes are the bane of all games these days... or maybe we are just old and remember a time when there were no cutscenes because the technology was too poor to support them and that was just fine
I think one of the best use of cutscenes ever was Kings Quest. When you did a specific thing it was quick and then it was over with. I am not even sure you could call them cutscenes. They were just nice and unobtrusive.
