Night Trap is back in physical copy !

If you like FMV games, this post is dedicated to you. Remember, a few decades back a rather obscure game pointed the tip of his nose on the game consoles in CD format. Its title: Night Trap, a rather subtle blend of interactivity and horrifying serial b, which is reminiscent of the films of bad taste of this period that we could find in video club. Very quickly, the game was able to create a reputation with the community, not for its interest which is very limited, but by the ridiculous of these overplayed scenes which give a very kitsch aspect in its globality.
Another aspect that makes all the interest of this nice game: the presence of an emblematic figure of a bygone era, I named Dana Plato, who was detained by the developers as main character. Because of these particularities, this game gained a sympathy capital as soon as it was available in 1992 and 93 on 3DO, Mega-CD and PC.

The return of the revenge of the dead
Twenty years have gone by, and Night Trap's license holders, hoping to make a few more nostalgic crumbles, will once again offer a version of Night Trap on the consoles of the moment: Ps4 and Xbox One. Planned basically, in dematerialized version, the team of Limited Run Games decided to make a physical version for the biggest happiness of the fans!
Yes, you read correctly ! Night Trap will be available for purchase on Saturday August 12, in limited versions! 5000 copies for the standard version and 3000 copies for the anniversary version which will include the game available in blu-ray, an audio tape of the ost, as well as a box similar to that of the Sega CD range of the time.

Any word on which version they are using for the source on this? If it is the Sega CD version then a lot of people will be upset. Even if they went back to the source files, which were on VHS tapes, I can see more than a few sites "reviewers" bitching about the graphic detail.
Personally, I love Full Motion Video games and think they could have gone so much farther if only devs and publishers tried. A good example in this genre would be the X-Files FMV based adventure (5 CDs worth) which was basically like an extended episode (exactly what FMV should feel like).
It is a hd remasterization of the original program and not a simple port. So we can expect a good video quality of the set.
Awesome. Thank you for that information. It is something I have seen missing from most write ups about this release - for fans, certainly a big detail.
I'll probably have to pick one up even though I don't own a PS4 yet, simply because I really want this and Limited Run Games' usually sells out pretty quickly.
There was the sale of both versions of Wonder Boy today on this website. All the copies were sold in 5 minutes ...
