Evangelion Unit 01 Costume sold at ~$83,000 USD on Ragnarok Mobile!!!

in #gaming7 years ago

Believe it or not, the digital cosmetic item you see below was sold at ~$83,000 USD. If you are from the Philippines which I assume most of the SEA players playing Ragnarok Mobile is from, then that's around Php 4,350,000 or if we are talking about liquid Steem here then that is around 268,257 STEEM!

He would have been an orca in one sitting! Crazy right?! All for this lone costume equipment:

Well I'm not gonna lie, I have little to no idea what those skills or boosts are from equipping that item nor I have any comment if it's really worth spending $83,000 USD but the one who won that item from last weeks auction which happened yesterday was none other than ElChap.

If you have been following me for some time now (and is reading most of my blog posts) then that name would be familiar to you as that is the same guy who also spent $60,000 USD last month for this mount item.

And another $40,000 USD for two MVP monster cards a week after that $60,000 purchase.

Anyway, I've made a blog post about this months ago to which you can read here:

And Yessss! That is real USD money spent as the only way to buy items or equipments via Ragnarok Mobile's auction house system is through BCC (Big Cat Currency), it's in-game currency.

One can only get BCC from topping-up (spending real money/cash) in the game which is approximately 564 BCC = Php5,000 or $95.28 USD

I've already said this in the past and I say this again now, developers should really consider making more games built on top of Steem. (An MMORPG game would be highly appreciated.)

Ragnarok Mobile's Auction House system features 10 item equipments (or monster cards) every week and most of those items are sold at thousands of dollars. This week alone (yeahhh this week alone), the estimated total the developers got from the auction system is ~$110,597 USD just for those 10 items.

Now imagine if Steem has an awesome game like that enough to attract players like ElChap to also spend money on it. That would be around half a million dollar per month! I'm pretty sure that would increase the price of Steem in no timeee! XD

Sort:

Omg not again. I wonder how they get so much money. Even in India it is very costly. It is kind of 83 times of my salary. I agree that if we can attract people like him to the platform, we can easily bring a huge gaming crowd to the platform to increase the value of Steem. @smjn - something to your notice.
