Diablo clones are considered to be an action role playing games. Arcanum is a role playing game, slow pace quest solving world exploring game. ARPG's are kill everything on your path and collect massive amounts of loot. Similar but different, both fun.
In that case, I believe you need to try Divinity: Original sins.
I still found Arcanum to be very simple albeit very fun.
I played Original Sin, one of the best modern RPG's :)
For the style, I can agree.
