Oooh I've been keeping an eye for this game since the first days the trailer came out. Yes, we've been through apocalyptic world dozens of times already, but this one looks particularly promising.

When I think about it, it seems kinda like Darkest Dungeon mixed with XCOM? With the Ark being the Hamlet where you gear up your heroes and then "embark". It also looks like the developer learnt from others' mistake, by not forcing too much contents just because they are popular. Like the open world plan you mentioned for example.
