RE: Rockstar announces three Red Dead Redemption 2 editions

in #gaming7 years ago

Although I would love to get this video game anyway, pre-order bonuses I think they need to stop, what if the game isn't any good? Then our bonuses are going to be meaningless. While it is cool to have limited or collector's editions I also think this is a bad business model that gaming companies are taking advantage of.

Thank you for posting this info, I will be checking this game out once it's out there.

I agree with you @roguefoz. No more will I get burned on pre-orders. I pre-ordered GTA on ps3 with the promise of online, yet they had an unfinished game. I find it best just to wait and make sure they come out with a solid product. Bad business model for sure. It's good for them, bad for us. This and others have been discussed as well. For example micro-transactions. Look to GTA for shark cards. They just don't want to stop making money. And sadly the soul gamers suffer. In the past, goals, unlocks, rewards that would have been a challenge to gain (which is the point if you ask me) are now only attainable through using real money to buy fake money. A bit nuts. But people do it, and they make money.

Losing a bit of the game purity if you ask me. But you didn't, so I'm asking you. haha. What do you think?

You pretty much nailed it, the current business model is wrong, they all want to copy the F2P model that is really profitable but they forget that you are already paying upfront for the game.

The pre-orders exclusives and incentives are not going to stop until people stop buying preorders, but most likely they won't. I refuse (like you) to get burn by unfinished and sometimes unplayable games.

Thank you for replying!

No worries! Glad you found it useful and I agree with you!
