Hey Drawtson,
Thank you, I haven't. Still a dream at this point of my skills, hopefully in the near future I can get one of these moving. and I just finished watching Devilman Crybaby, wow.

What did you think?

Sort:

I reaaaalllly liked it. It disturbed me profoundly (which I didn't love) but it was unique, visually beautiful, and it made me think, so I had to accept that I liked it haha

same here, I felt it was so unique and the story really got me thinking as well. the last two episodes were so heart breaking. I also thought the animation style was so unique.

Yeah, I was not prepared for where the series decided to go. They throw you a bone here and there to make you think that this will be a conventional anime where EVERYTHINGS GOING TO BE OK OK!?

But in my experience it's the stories that have "bad" endings, sad ones or complicated ones that really stick with you.

If a story is wrapped up too nice and neat, then your mind really doesn't dwell on it much.

I agree, I just wasn't expecting it to be so heart breaking.
I think the stories that wrap up so nicely feel comfortable and cozy, but part of me always knows that life is not always this way and writers who dare expose the dark side of the human psyche and force us to sit with it and confront it and try to digest it and process it work better sometimes to heal us and help us move forward as a species.

there is something oppressive about demanding positivity all the time, so I agree with you. I just felt so heartbroken that everyone I cared about ended up the way they did.

What I did love about it through is how they showed that humans can be way more evil and dangerous than any other devil or other things they demonize, that was pretty powerful.

anyway, so grateful for netflix and that shows like these are finally being made. :]
