RE: The "bad" about Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

in #gaming4 months ago

I am an old-school gamer who still plays because I enjoy it, but modern gaming seems to focus on much more difficult gameplay because the competitive gaming is a very big part of today. Back when I first started gaming, if you wanted competitive you went over to a friend's place and had a few games of Street Fighter 2. You didn't have the ability to play against hundreds of thousands of potential opponents at any given time of day. I'm not competitive anymore, so these kinds of experiences don't really appeal to me.

I hear ya!

And Tekken 🙂

oh yeah. Tekken was such a game changer when it came out. Virtua Fighter kind of started that trend out but Tekken made it a lot better.

I can't remember ever playing Virtua Fighter. I think that Street Fighter 2 would've been the first of that genre I remember... and then the pride when I got Mortal Kombat II for the Master System. Looking back to that period, I'm amazed that my parents let me own that - I wonder if I'd let my kids play something similar 😆

You played MK2 on a Master System? Surely you mean Mega Drive / Genesis. I remember enjoying that game but with the Sega controller only having 3 buttons, it made the game a lot more complicated than I felt it should be.

I had to look at my old cartridges to check and you're right - it was the original Mortal Kombat on the Master System. It was only recently that I got a Mega Drive... my memory isn't what it once was!

that's just fine. You got me excited because I wanted to go and check it out if there was a version of the game that was as old as the Master System. I think it would have been pretty funny because that was not a powerful machine!
