Growing veggies with vertical gardening

in #gardening9 years ago (edited)

In the above photo I'm standing in front of my newest raised bed.  I've  made a trellis to support my melons, peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers.  The trellis is five feet high, and the bed is ten feet long.  I'm using  drip irrigation hosing to keep it well watered.  This year we have had  the driest and hottest July I have ever seen, and keeping the plants  happy is more difficult than in most years.  Besides doing a better job  irrigating, the drip line also saves me time watering.  Drip line, by  the way, is very cheap and lasts a long time. Below in the gallery I've  put other shots of the same bed from other angles, you can better see  the trellis and the cucumbers.

If I get the hang of this I can  see myself posting better articles with frequency here.  If you want to  ask questions feel free to send me a message and follow to see more from  me.  This concludes my second post to Steem, thanks for reading and keep  gardening!

That's a hefty trellis!
