We have the same crazy "spring thing" after the intense long hot dry season, where everything erupts into flower. Banksias are amazing things, no? Maybe you could do some reading and post about their use by indigenous Australians for medicine and food? They always look so BRAVE to me, the way the flowers stand up so straight.
