8 FOR HE WHO SOWS TO HIS FLESH WILL OF THE FLESH REAP CORRUPTION, BUT HE WHO SOWS TO THE SPIRIT WILL OF THE SPIRIT REAP EVERLASTING LIFE.
9 AND LET US NOT GROW WEARY WHILE DOING GOOD, FOR IN DUE SEASON WE SHALL REAP IF WE DO NOT LOSE HEART.
10 THEREFORE, AS WE HAVE OPPORTUNITY, LET US DO GOOD TO ALL, especially to those who are of the household of faith."
Galatians 6:8-10 (NKJV)

In most cases a lot people, believers alike, live their lives without really know the implications of what they are doing. Every act is a seed. Everything done is a seed. But most of the things done unconsciously are done without being circumspect of the implications; not being known to the person doing it that he or she is sowing a seed.

When you spend your time on reading or watching content that are not edifying online, as a believer in Christ, you are sowing to your life. Two things are clear, It is either you are sowing to the flesh or the spirit, there is no middle ground about it. If what you are feeding your mind with is not to the spirit, it is automatically to the flesh (Galatians 6:8).

Sowing to the flesh would yield corruption, whilst sowing to the spirit would yield everlasting life (Galatians 6:8). If you routinely every morning read a portion of the Bible passage, you might be unconscious of the importance or significance of what you are doing, but you are sowing to your spirit. However, If someone reads a portion of online news every morning, he also is sowing, but his own sowing is to the flesh. In all your actions, It is either you are feeding your spirit or flesh. Your mind is the centre stage and the passage or gateway through which whatever would be in your life passes through (Proverbs 4:23).

Even in relating with people, those you relate or hangout with influence your life either positively or negatively. The people you allow in your space sow to your life even when you are not aware of it. In every relationship, It is either you, sowing or influencing the other party, or he, sowing or influencing your life, It depends on who has dominance in the relationship. And mostly, the children of the world would have dominance if you are in any association or relationship with them, because they are wiser in the things of the world than the children of light (Luke 16:8).

The passage, the text of this teaching, also talks about doing good, that every good thing you do would be reaped in due season If you fainted not or did not lose heart (Galatians 6:9). There is power of consistency! When what you are doing is good, I would encourage or admonish you to be consistent in the doing of it. If you cultivated the habit of lending a hand to support or help whoever needs it, do not stop, keep doing it, you are sowing and the harvest will surely come (Galatians 6:9).

And if yours is about giving, money or material things, be consistent as well, you equally will reap it. When you give, you are indirectly helping yourself, because the harvest of what you are doing would come and harvest is usually greater in quantity and quality than whatever is sown (Galatians 6:9).

The last thing to note in the passage is the admonition to always do good to all, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. It is good to be generous to every human being, but things done for fellow believers, those who are of the household of faith, is more rewarding—it holds a special place in the heart of God.

Note on Giving or good deeds:
a. There is a reward on giving to people generally, either believers or non-believers (Matthew 5:16; Galatians 6:10).
b. There is also a reward in what you give to the needy in the household of faith, the church (Proverbs 19:17; Acts 2:44,45; Galatians 6:10).
c. If you give to the work of God; either on missions, or a God commanded project in your local church, or your support is given to a ministry or whatever is meant to expand the Kingdom of God on earth, there is also a reward (Luke 8:1-3; Acts 4:34,35).
d. If you give to the ministers of God; your pastor and whoever is being used to minister to you or feed you spiritually, there is also a reward for it (1 Corinthians 9:9-14; Philippians 4:14-19).
Now, in all the Giving highlighted above, you should not do one and shy away from other ones, however, they are not equally rewarded. The reward for the giving to general people, both unbelievers and whoever, is not the same with the reward you get when you give either to God's work or the people of household of faith or the ministers of God. The rewards of sowing or giving according to God's Word are in folds; hundredfold, sixtyfold and thirtyfold (Matthew 13:23).

The harvest of whatever you sow is dependent on a number of factors:
a. The worthiness of the cause or what you sow to in the Kingdom of God on earth. That is, is the cause commanded by God or a mere wishing of man?
b. The land which the seed is sown is important for a good harvest. Is the land a fertile land or a dry land? Is the ministry or church or parachurch or fellowship or the minister you are sowing the seed to, engages in heaven sent assignments, or they are on their own agendas? Thus, the land should be a worthy land. A worthy and fertile land is a ministry or a minister that is being led by God's instructions or commands through His Word and the Holy Spirit.
c. The season of sowing is another important factor. In other words, the time that the seed is sown is a determinant factor for the harvest. There is this promptness about giving or seed-sowing that whoever is sowing should be aware of. If you are being nudged or stirred or prompted in your spirit by the Holy Spirit to give or sow, do it right away, because there is a reason for it. A seed sown at the right season or time cannot but germinate and yield maximally, because It was done promptly in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit—as It was commanded by God.
Peace.
