LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE 2
2 NOW FOR THE HOUSE OF MY GOD I [David] HAVE PREPARED WITH ALL MY MIGHT: gold for things to be made of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood, onyx stones, stones to be set, glistening stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance.
3 MOREOVER, BECAUSE I HAVE SET MY AFFECTION ON THE HOUSE OF MY GOD, I HAVE GIVEN TO THE HOUSE OF MY GOD, OVER AND ABOVE ALL THAT I HAVE PREPARED FOR THE HOLY HOUSE, MY OWN SPECIAL TREASURE OF GOLD AND SILVER:
4 three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses;
5 the gold for things of gold and the silver for things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be done by the hands of craftsmen. WHO THEN IS WILLING TO CONSECRATE HIMSELF THIS DAY TO THE LORD?”
6 THEN THE LEADERS OF THE FATHERS' HOUSES, LEADERS OF THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL, THE CAPTAINS OF THOUSANDS AND OF HUNDREDS, WITH THE OFFICERS OVER THE KING'S WORK, OFFERED WILLINGLY."
1 Chronicles 29:2-6 (NKJV)
• I would want you to be sincere with these questions:
a. What are the things that other people are learning from your life—either as a believer or as a leader?
b. Is your life pointing or directing others to Christ Jesus—God?
- Samuel asked the people If they had anything incriminating which they could point out as a defect or deformity in his life, in his entire time of leading the nation of Israel:
3 HERE I AM. WITNESS AGAINST ME BEFORE THE LORD AND BEFORE HIS ANOINTED: WHOSE OX 🐂 HAVE I TAKEN, OR WHOSE DONKEY 🐴 HAVE I TAKEN, OR WHOM HAVE I CHEATED? WHOM HAVE I OPPRESSED, OR FROM WHOSE HAND ✋ HAVE I RECEIVED ANY BRIBE WITH WHICH TO BLIND MY EYES? I WILL RESTORE IT TO YOU.” 4 AND THEY SAID, “YOU HAVE NOT CHEATED US OR OPPRESSED US, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN ANYTHING FROM ANY MAN'S HAND"(1 Samuel 12:3,4 NKJV). - How many ministers, preachers, could say this in the contemporary time?
a. Are you a good example to those whom you are leading?
b. Can the people under your leadership follow you, your pattern of life, and make heaven at the end of their journey on earth?
c. What are the people learning from your life, the good or the evils?
• Admonishment:
- be a good example to others, as a believer; the people around you, in the place where you work, or live, or wherever you may find yourself.
- And you, as a leader, be an example to the flock God has entrusted to your care (Acts 20:35; 1 Peter 5:3). And not only those entrusted to your care, but those who are outside, watching you from afar; they are watching you, wanting to learn and know about Jesus' Character, His attributes, through your life.
- A ministry leader should have a good reputation, comments and saying from those who are outside:
1 THIS IS A TRUSTWORTHY SAYING: “IF SOMEONE ASPIRES TO BE A CHURCH LEADER, HE DESIRES AN HONORABLE POSITION.” 7 ALSO, PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE CHURCH MUST SPEAK WELL OF HIM SO THAT HE WILL NOT BE DISGRACED AND FALL INTO THE DEVIL'S TRAP" (1 Timothy 3:1,7 NLT). - Character is what a person is, whilst reputation is what you are thought to be by others.
THUS, What are the thoughts of others about you, as a believer, or as a minister—a leader in God's vineyard? - What are the thoughts and views of others about your Christian life? Would they say you are a believer, a good Christian, and a genuine minister of God?
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is contrary to your health is rooted out in Jesus' mighty name.
- You are made whole and the affiction will not rise the second time in Jesus' name.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
