This was announced by the German pharmaceutical colossus, which said it was ready to make additional concessions to allow the $ 66 billion merger. Initially the merger should have been all go-ahead since the beginning of this year.

"We are thinking of a possible conclusion in the second quarter of 2018," explains Bayer CEO Werner Baumann.

"Our objective now is to be able to close the operation in the second quarter of 2018", underlines the CEO of the German pharmaceutical chemical giant, Werner Baumann, at the presentation of the balance sheet data.

On the merger Bayer-Monsanto recently gave the green disk Brazil which is one of the most important markets for agriculture. "This is a milestone on the road to closing the operation", Baumann evidence. In general, the authorization came from around 30 countries in the world. The call is missing Europe and the United States. The European Commission is at work and an expected response on 5 April.

Bayer, in the context of the acquisition of Monsanto, sells Nunhems the business of 'vegetable seeds', or horticultural seeds. This was announced by the CEO of the pharmaceutical chemical giant, Werner Baumann, during the presentation of the balance sheet accounts. The sale of the business is subject to the approval of the authorities and to the definition of the acquisition of Monsanto by Bayer. At the moment the vegetable seeds business is present in about forty countries.

Most European citizens think that the EU Commission should block the merger between Bayer and Monsanto. This is supported by Friends of the Earth Europe and the SumOfUs and WeMove.eu movements, based on a survey of over 7,000 people in four Member States (Germany, Spain, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom). According to 54% of respondents, the Commission should block the merger between the German pharmaceutical chemistry giant and the American multinational synonymous with GMO in agriculture. 47% say they are quite or very worried about the operation.
