RE: SPOILERS ** I'm not happy with what they have done to G.O.T. Season 8 ** SPOILERS

in #got6 years ago

I really thought that Cersei was going to have Tyrion killed for real this time when he approached the gate to try and reason with her. Yet, once again - just like their discussion after that Dragon Pit meeting at the end of Season 7 - she came thisclose and stopped.

I suppose it's all building up to something in these last two episodes - ideally, we'll all be like, "Oh, OK, I get why they did what they did." Still, though, the haphazard nature of this season (plus production errors like that silly now-digitally-erased Starbucks cup) is unfortunate.

Sort:

I certainly hope that they do make all of this make sense somehow in the last 2 ep's. However, given the sloppy writing up to now, I would be surprised if that happened.

I think my shred of hope comes from certain cast interviews. Gwendoline Christie, Peter Dinklage - both are satisfied/proud of whatever becomes of their characters. I could be pessimistic and think that's all part of the HBO marketing machine, but they're known for giving really upfront opinions while still keeping those plotlines secret.

So, given that neither of these characters are doing well by their actors's standards (or anyone else's) as of this episode, maybe these last two (long) episodes might just the achieve a-ha moments that Season 6, Episode 5 did with standard time.

Oh, and they still have to bring back poor Edmure Tully ;)
