In my experience, heat is usually the problem in cases like this. CPU temps that are too high, will cause instability. Make sure the CPU and system fans are working and are reasonably dust free. If heat is the issue, a better heatsink/fan or a good cleaning and reapplication of thermal compound may solve the problem.
