Thanks for sharing Deb. I am 51 and am going through the same thing but I had a partial hysterectomy many years ago so I don't have periods and don't have any issues there but here is a tip... If iron levels are low cook with iron skillet and pair iron rich foods with vitamin c to help absorption.
Thanks! I never thought about an iron skillet and I think we have one.
I did read not to drink tea or have dairy within the hour of having iron because that makes the body not absorb as much of it. I am an avid tea drinker so I am sure I was breaking that rule. lol
lol yes and just something as simple as cooking your steak with red bell peppers (also high in vitamin C) on an iron skillet or even just having a couple of slices of kiwi or orange on the side of your plate. Over time your levels should come up.
You just made me want kiwi and I've not had it in awhile. lol
