Yes, antibiotic resistance is a serious issue, and modern science is losing the battle against the bugs... it is inevitable really, but oversubscribing them hasnt helped.. and doctors have nothing else to offer since they don’t practice prevention advice, have no clue about diet, and dont treat the cause of symptoms...
It's not as simple as that.
One of the biggest issues is dealing with them leaking into the environment. That causes a greater selective pressure for the resistance genes than using antibiotics on patients.
When you kill off susceptible strains en masse in the wild, that's when resistant ones are left to proliferate.
