Finally getting relief
After almost 2 months of being in sciatica pain, finally I have started feeling better, pain is not gone completely, but it's much better and my mobilisation is also better with it. Very religiously I have been doing everything that needs to be done to bring the situation in control. Morning when I wake up, that's the time when the pain is most, so as soon as I get up, I first do some Yoga which has been advised by my therapist and that eases of the pain. In the evening also I do the same set of yoga poses again, which helps me a lot. I am avoiding long walks, bending down and lifting anything heavy.
All of this is helping me a lot, but what's been most effective is the physiotherapy treatment for which I need to visit the hospital every alternate day. I have completed 5 sessions now and the pain has eased off to a large extent. It's a half an hour session and very effective. I am planning to take 5 more to feel completely better. 1 month back I was very worried, because last time when it happened it got so worse that I had to undergo the surgery. This time my doctor told me that surgery is not the solution every time, so I have to manage it in other ways, and also this time it was not as bad as the first time. I gave attention from day 1 so I could get it in control.
This is the physiotherapy machine
When it happened last time, which is now almost 6 years back, I did not know how to manage the pain and because of that I did not take good care of myself and also for a long time I ignored the pain thinking it must be just a normal swelling. This time on the first symptoms itself I took action so it helped me a lot. Anyways this is something that I need to deal with lifelong, there is no permanent cure for it. And it will also help me maintain my body posture in the right manner and also do my yoga every single day.
