Wasn't talking bad about marijuana. Just identifying a condition that's is clearly linked to chronic use in a small subset of patients. I agree that chronic use of Benzos would be a bad alternative. However in an emergency setting where you need to act, a temporary dose to put a patient out of misery is not a bad choice. If a kid or adult was having a seizure I would also acutely use this. I advise you to read the full article where I support much greater research into the plant. I am still in medical school and have no affiliation or benefit from any pharmaceutical company. My dream is to help as many patients as I can. I'm leaving for the hospital now to do just that.
