Mosquitoes in urban areas are much more than in rural areas
I have been to a city and have lived in a village, and from my own observation, I have put this into writing: that city (urban settlement) are not free from mosquitoes. Read to help me prove a point.
Mosquitoes in urban areas are like much more than in rural areas.
Firstly, the definition of urban area
Secondly, the definition of rural area
I know very well that all of us know what urban areas and rural areas are, but I just have to explain them again.
URBAN AREA:
This is the area in a country that is well developed with infrastructures like good roads.
In urban areas there is high population density and housing (this leads to the spread of contagious diseases easily).
The urban area has less vegetation than that of the rural regions.
RURAL AREA:
This area can be called a village. The rural area is the area that does not have infrastructure; they have scattered housing, a lower population and higher levels of agricultural practices (farming). A person can hardly locate hospitals or schools.
"REASONS WHY MOSQUITOES ARE MOSTLY FOUND IN THE URBAN AREA THAN THE RURAL AREA"
In urban areas, because of the development, they tend to make roads with stone and coal. This act restricts the flow of water to sink down into the earth, so they brought in the idea of making a drainage system along with the road construction. The drainage are sometimes moved to the nearby river or to the nearest big bush or forest in the rural area, but since some citizens have dubious character, they put waste in the drainage system, causing the water to be stagnant, making it a comfortable place for mosquitoes to breed.
Mosquitoes such as Anopheles, are known for spreading diseases like malaria, anopheles mosquito is not the only mosquito that spread disease, the are two order more and the are Aedes and Culex. And the are know for spreading several diseases.
I learnt in Biology that a single female mosquito can lay about 3000 eggs before her lifetime elapses; this is about a month. An Anopheles mosquito is a vector which spreads a parasitic called Plasmodium.
There are five types of this plasmodium, of which I will mention only one that is Plasmodium falciparum – the most deadly of all. Imagine how the people that live around this kind of area are suffering despite the hospitals that are there.
This mosquito affects those that live around an open drainage system.
In rural areas of the country the stagnant waters dry up quickly because they are laid on an open soil. They live far away from themselves, so mosquitoes can find it hard to detect their homes. And the mosquitoes might die because they are starved and can't reproduce as usual.
The world is developing; very soon there will be little area for rural life.
Thank you everyone for spending your time reading my post, I'm very grateful.
