The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Exodus 12, Post #11
Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.
Exodus 12:49-51
We heard the rest of the statutes about Pesach (Passover) last time, and also learned who can and who cannot participate in the Moed (Appointed time) moving forward from that point. Today, we are just reading to the end of the chapter in order to round things out before moving on.
The last statute, that there was to be one law for the native born and any that join the belief of the Hebrews. There is no exclusion from becoming one of God's chosen.
The last part of the chapter states that all the people did was was commanded and spoken through Moshe (Moses) and Aharon (Aaron). Then, on the same day, he brought them out of the land of Egypt. But this is not the end of the story. As we all know, there will some other "Rules of the Road" coming and eventually the Ten Commandments coming as well.
Finally, I wanted to congratulate you all on finishing nearly 160 pages in Hebrew and finishing another chapter. Next week, we will be starting Chapter 13 in Exodus.
