The chaga that grows on the birch is the most medicinal. It will grow on poplar and aspen as well. I am sure that there are medicinal values as well. But from what I have read in the Russian studies, is that the birch bark is needed for the mushroom to contain the medicines. I believe that all things have a purpose. Every being has a medicine.
