My Diary Game: A HOLIDAY WELL SPENT - 23/9/2025
Amazing Steemians, I bring you greetings from Uyo.
To everyone in Akwa Ibom, yesterday was a memorial day as the state marked her 38th anniversary. Akwa Ibom State, known as “The Land of Promise”, was created on 23rd September, 1987. In the spirit of this anniversary, the government declared a public holiday for both the private and public sectors. Let me take you through how I spent the holiday.
THE MORNING HOURS
After our morning devotion I went back to bed and later got up to type some letters. I was on my laptop for a period, working. Since I didn't go to where people gathered for the celebrations, I decided to work in the house.

AFTERNOON
In the afternoon, I paid a visit to one of our church members. When I went round his environment, I was thrilled with his small poultry farm, which contained about 8 big layers and 5 broilers. They are ready to be sold. My assessment and the current price of things in our country: each of those chickens may go for at least N25k. We had a nice time, as he entertained me with groundnut and garden egg in the ways of Africa.
EVENING BEFORE I SLEPT
I rearranged my mini-shelf, keeping the books in a way I will easily use them. My son was assisting me with the furniture guy that brought the bookshelf. Now my books are arranged and kept in their order of importance. When I was done, I listened to the news, had my dinner and called it a day.

SUMMARY OF THE DAY
Every 23rd of September is Akwa Ibom Day, and it is a public holiday for people to be coloured with orange. I visited a member and saw his small-scale poultry farm.
LESSONS OF THE DAY
- Always be encouraged and keep yourself busy.
- Do not be afraid to start small.
- Find time to visit your friends whenever you have time.
Thank you for sharing in the story of my day.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
Happy 38th anniversary to our own dear State!
It's amazing how you utilized your holiday so well to get some things done.
Especially the bookshelf arrangement, this will make it easier to locate some certain literatures you'll need.
And unwinding with the groundnut and garden egg for dinner from the image I've seen is a great way to end the day.
Thanks for sharing your day's experience.
