The Diary Game: let me Talk About my practical snail farm, profit and losses // 16th July, 2025//

A warm greetings to my amazing steemians friends in this community, its another avenue to share my day and also talk about my business. Once can't do without means of survival, it can personal business, managing for someone or have a permanent job in these dispensation.

Once does not need to be idle or be dependent on others for survival.
So I took a step of setting up my own business to be able to fit in the challenging society, where's no job for graduate who suffered to complete their studies.

Snail farming as their pro's and coin, I undergo training with my mentor and after that I didn't have capital to set up my farm.
Snail farming is a prolific business that require minimal or small capital to start depending on the capacity, last month I was able to construct my building and stock my snail with POL (point of lay breeders).
Here's my experience so far;

Snail are not heavy feeders, therefore there are less expensive to feed.

They feed on both vegetable and tubers which can be source locally.

Snail needs plenty of calcium for shell development and fast growth especially at grower stage.

Snail thrives very well during raining season and can be managed effectively during dry season by watering the Soil regularly to soften it.

Early morning, after I woke up from bed I had a moment of prayers before I step out to visit my snail farm for sorting eggs, incubation and checking on my baby snails. It was a days job and it was not something to be hurried, so I took my time to sort the eggs from the pen

There's no business without losses, Snail is prolific business but I had losses of some of my breeders which I morn them and try to find solution to the situation at hand.

So I found dead snails in my farm which I was not happy about it but it has already happened.

So I spend my whole day in my snail farm, I got back home in the evening which I just freshen up to regain strength and better , it was an hectic day.
