Tajhat Palace, Rangpur - Bangladesh. || My Favourite Location.
One of Rangpur's most popular tourist attractions is undoubtedly Tajhat Palace. Its beautiful architecture and natural beauty melt the hearts of many.
The broad staircase in front of the structure, the pond, and the large garden attract most natural and history lovers. Not only that but there is also a museum inside the palace, allowing visitors to take a look at our history as well.
I recently visited this beautiful place. Let me share my experience.
The palace was built at the beginning of the 20th century by Maharaja Kumar Gopal Lal Roy. Taj means jeweled crown. It's believed the dome of the building represents his Taj.
It was a residential building and later used as the District High Court. Then in 2005 it shifted as a museum and opened for tourists.
We locally call it Tajhat Jamindar Bari, Jamindar means Landlord and Bari means House. As it was the Landlord's back then so it got the name.
This palace is just 6 km away from the main Rangpur city. Any local transport will take you there. You have to pay only $.20 as a fee to enter the palace. The area is about two acres consisting of the main building, a backyard building for the landlord's staff, a garden, a pond, etc.
It's a major sculpture of the time because of the usage of Murble, terracotta artifacts, and Sanskrit and Arabic manuscripts. The Indo-Saracenic architecture combines the architecture of Mughal, European, and Bengali styles.
You can get more information about the Palace from here- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tajhat_Palace

The intricate arrangement of the doors, windows, passage, and railing was very thoughtfully designed. This is the backyard garden that is meant for the women of the house so no outsider can see them.
There's another large garden in front of the building for the visitors.
A separate building for staff with their wash area, kitchen, etc. People say that the Landlord used to call the 'female entertainer' in this building.
There are 22 apartments/rooms in this two-stereo building. The doors are all closed now, only visitors can access the museum area.
You can see the detailed design of the balcony/passage area and the floor. Who would believe this is a 200 years old building?
This is the information board that you will get to see in front of the building with all the relevant information. It's helpful to navigate the place and know more about it.
Taking photos inside the museum is prohibited so I can't share the inside/interior of the building.
This is the outlook of the palace.
The palace area is huge so even if many visitors come there, you will not feel overcrowded. I like the view, the garden area, and the aesthetic vibe of the palace.
It's located in my hometown, whenever I visit my mom's house I try to go visit this palace too because of its natural beauty and amazing architecture.

@abdullahw2 - is this post part of your contest?
The pin is in the wrong location.
Yes, I have checked earlier and I was waiting for atlas Ambassadors's review for further clarification but no one has reviewed.
Can I do anything from my end to make it right? Thank you.
