The Joy of a Dream Fulfilled
Every person has a dream in their heart. Some dream of wealth, some of fame, and some of success in their career. My dream, however, was simple but very deep.
Honestly, my dream was developing a strong family filled with love, respect, and success. Today, when I look back, I am proud to say that this dream has come true.
I grew up in a family with the strongest values, such as love, unity, and respect. My parents often worked cooperatively. They love and respect each other. They made decisions together and equally cared us. They respected our elders, relatives, and society. They got the same from them. I still remember how they asked our opinion when solving problems, especially at the dining table. It gave us value, and it also helped us to learn that problems can be solved easily when everyone works together.
I always wanted to build a family like that. I wished to marry a man like my father, who is kind, respectful, and caring. Fortunately, it has come true. He was always beside me, and together we raised our children with the same love and values we received from our parents.
My children were raised in such a loving and guiding environment. Both of them worked hard and enrolled in a first-class university as undergraduate engineering students. They also developed into the strongest and most valued children in the community.
My elder son, just 31 years old, earns a good living as an IT program manager at a prestigious Sri Lankan company. My younger son, just 28 years old, is pursuing a fully funded PhD in engineering at a UK university. Both of them received an award for 'The most disciplined child' (Saradharma Kumara) in their schools.

Their success is not only from education but also from discipline. They build good, kind, and respectable young men. As a mother, this is the most success I have ever had.
When I see my sons being praised by others, I feel that my dream has bloomed into reality. Indeed, our children can be considered the best investment we have made. Is there any other achievement than shaping children into strong, educated, and good human beings? This is the joy of a dream fulfilled.
