There are various means of transport for people from any part of the country. You can reach this place by any means of transport including buses, private cars, CNG, rickshaws. There is a separate bus system to reach Panam City from Dhaka. The city of Panam was founded in the 15th century during the reign of Isa Khan. Isa Khan was one of the influential Bhuiyans of Bengal. When the East India Company conducted their commercial activities in this country, they built this city for their convenience. This city was mainly the residence of noble families.

The city has a large number of colonial-style two-story and one-story buildings. Some are three-story. A total of 52 buildings can be found in Panam Nagar. There is a beautiful road running through the city. There are 31 buildings on the north side of this road and 21 buildings on the south side. Most of the buildings are rectangular. In addition to colonialism, the architecture of the buildings shows a wonderful combination of Mughal, Greek and Gandhara architectural styles with local craftsmen.

The usability, craftsmanship, and use of colors of each house are remarkable. In the construction of this building, cast iron brackets, ventilators and window grills have been used along with bricks. All the cast iron works here are considered equivalent to the work of Europeans.

After Sonargaon became the capital of Bengal in the Middle Ages, the prominence of Panam Nagar increased. Then, when the British took control of Bengal, the noble Muslims here did not cooperate with the British. As a result, the British started reducing their influence and prestige here.

Due to lack of facilities, the residents here slowly started leaving Panam Nagar. With the change of time, the bustling Panam Nagar started to be destroyed. At one point, it turned into an abandoned city. Slowly, Panam Nagar started to be occupied by the people around it. In 2009, the then administration liberated this city.

The houses are slowly deteriorating due to carelessness. Due to carelessness, algae grow in the houses, the interior environment becomes damp and stuffy. Plants are growing on the walls of the houses, tree roots are entering the houses, due to unscrupulous people, the thresholds, railings, fences and planks of the houses have been stolen. Due to lack of conservation, the roofs of various houses have collapsed, the stairs and walls of the houses have broken. Even in 2005, two houses were completely destroyed.

This city is always bustling with domestic and foreign tourists. The people in charge of the city always try to keep the city clean. They take care that visitors do not face any problems.

Panam Nagar is a vivid example of how a city full of charm can be destroyed due to human negligence, immorality, and carelessness. Panam Nagar is still standing with its ruins as if to warn us and is giving us a warning that you too should take care of your city. And if you neglect it, then your situation will be like Panam Nagar.I hope that we can learn the right lesson from the destroyed Panam Nagar.
