Raj Hardware Store, Parbatipur
Today I visited a hardware shop called Raj Hardware Store in Parbatipur town. Even though our town is quite small, there are several hardware shops around. I went there to buy a small lock for our main gate. In this post, I’ll share how my experience was along with details about the shop’s atmosphere, products, and services.

Location & Founder
Raj Hardware Store is located on one of the main roads of Parbatipur town, on the west side of Advocate Khatibur Rahman Road. It’s quite easy to find since it’s right beside Sadhana Pharmacy, a well-known pharmacy in the area.

The shop was founded by Freedom Fighter Mr. Amjad Ali Sarkar,
And the current proprietor is Mr. Abdur Razzak Ali Sarkar.

This is a dealer hardware store, which means they sell products directly from specific manufacturing companies. Although they deal with multiple brands, their business operations and distribution agreements are managed internally, something regular customers like me usually don’t get to know in detail.
Shop Environment & Atmosphere
The shop is quite spacious but looked a bit disorganized to me. Some shelves were neatly stacked, while others had tools and products lying around randomly. I visited in the morning, so there were no crowds, and I could move around easily.

On the right side, I noticed paint cans and wash basins, while the left side had the shopkeeper’s counter and tools section. Behind the main area, there’s a small storage space where pipes and door fittings are kept.

The shop has fans and lights but no air conditioning. I didn’t notice any CCTV cameras, though sometimes they are placed discreetly. Overall, the atmosphere was simple but comfortable enough for shopping.

Products & Services
Raj Hardware Store offers a wide range of construction and repair materials. You’ll find items like hand tools, fasteners, power tools, plumbing accessories, paints, locks, hinges, handles, bolts, screws, washers, and cleaning products.

They also sell Oxycon Construction Brand and Mr. Fixit waterproofing products, which are quite popular locally. Outside the shop, some items like slip mats, pipes, water tanks, and ceramic toilets are displayed helping customers get an idea of what’s available.

My Personal Experience
I went there to buy a small lock for our main gate’s security. Honestly, I hadn’t planned to buy it from this particular store, but since it was spacious and empty that morning, I decided to stop by.

The shop owner greeted me warmly and showed me two different brands of locks.I finally chose one from the Limto Classic brand, priced at only 100 BDT, which came with three keys.

I really liked his friendly attitude, we even had a short, fun bargaining session, and he accepted my offered price without hesitation. The price seemed fair to me, and his customer service was excellent. However, I noticed that their collection of lock brands was a bit limited compared to other stores in town

Store Facilities
Since the shop is located right beside the main road, it doesn’t have its own parking space. Still, a few bikes or bicycles can be parked in front if done carefully without blocking the road.

Payments are accepted only in cash, and the owner is open to reasonable bargaining, which helps customers get a fair deal. They also seem to have a refund or exchange policy for unused and unopened products, though I didn’t personally test it.

Final Thoughts
Overall, my experience at Raj Hardware Store was quite satisfying. The shopkeeper was polite, cooperative, and even allowed me to take some photos for my post.
Although the shop could use a bit more organization and product variety, I still think it’s a reliable place for buying general hardware items.
I had a nice shopping experience there, and I’ll probably visit again in the future when I need any construction materials, small repair tools or accessories.
