Shwapno Super Shop, Saidpur

Today I want to share about Shwapno Supermarket. It’s the largest supermarket chain in our country. Let me tell you about one of its branches, Shwapno Super Shop, Saidpur.

1. Location and Background

The Saidpur branch of Shwapno Super Shop is located on Jikrul Haque Road, and it opened here about two years ago.

Shwapno started its journey back in 2008, and over time it has become the biggest supermarket chain in Bangladesh, with the highest number of outlets across the country.

The one in my town was established at the beginning of this year, and since then it has been a popular place for shopping.

2. Size and Layout

When I first visited the Shwapno Super Shop in Saidpur, it was quite small in size. But now the shop has expanded, and you can find a much wider variety of products compared to before.

The items here are kept in a very organized way. For example, frozen foods are arranged in one dedicated section, groceries in another, and categories like personal care and home care also have their own spaces.

Because of this organized layout, shopping here feels enjoyable. You can easily compare different brands of the same product in one place without much hassle, which makes the experience smoother and more satisfying.

One of the sections I really liked here is the frozen food section. There are so many varieties of frozen items available that I usually don’t find in other shops. From frozen fish to meat, the collection felt quite rich.

The grocery section is also impressive. Having such a wide range of groceries under one roof makes shopping a lot quicker and easier.

3. Product Variety

What I found interesting is that the shop offers both local and international brands. For example, the frozen fish and meat I shared pictures of are from local sources, and most of the spices here are also from local brands. At the same time, I even came across some international items, for instance, I once noticed a drink that was originally from Afghanistan

Another thing worth mentioning is that Shwapno has its own brand products too. Items like honey, rice, lentils, spices, and different packaged foods are sold under their in-house brand. I think that adds a unique touch to their variety and also gives customers more trust in quality.

4. Pricing and Discounts

I found the pricing at Shwapno Super Shop to be quite reasonable overall. Most of the items are fairly priced, which makes regular shopping convenient. However, I did notice that some packaged food items felt a little more expensive compared to the local shops outside.

One thing I really liked is that they almost always have some kind of discounts or special offers running throughout the year. For example, some products have a direct price cut, while others follow the “buy 2, get 1 free” type of offer and sometimes if you purchase items over a certain amount, you also get an extra discount.

Another interesting feature of Shwapno Supermarket is their membership or loyalty program. When customers sign up for the Shwapno membership card, they start earning points with every purchase. Once they collect 100 points, they can redeem it for a discount of 75 BDT (≈ $0.62 USD). It’s a nice way to save a little extra while shopping regularly.

These deals definitely make the shopping experience more exciting and pocket-friendly.

5. Quality and Freshness

One of the main reasons Shwapno Super Shop is so popular is because of the quality of its products. The fruits, vegetables, and meat here are usually fresh and well-maintained.

I also noticed that almost every product comes with clear manufacturing and expiry dates on the label, which builds a strong sense of trust among customers. Knowing exactly how fresh something is makes shopping here feel safer and more reliable.

6. Customer Service

The customer service at this supermarket is quite good. The staff are always ready to help customers find the right products. They also explain the available discounts and give useful information about the quality of different items.

Besides that, at the counter the products are scanned quickly, and all the details are entered into the computer right away. Customers get their purchase receipt within a short time, which makes the payment process smooth and leaves no room for confusion about the amount.

I personally liked how approachable and polite they were, it really makes the shopping experience smoother and more enjoyable.

7. Facilities and Amenities

The Shwapno Super Shop in Saidpur doesn’t have its own dedicated parking space. However, customers can park their bikes or cars right in front of the supermarket.

Inside the shop, there are plenty of shopping trolleys. Using these trolleys makes it much easier to carry multiple products while walking around, which truly makes the shopping experience more convenient.

8. Hygiene and Safety

The products here are kept clean, and each has an expiry date, ensuring that they are safe for consumption. Cleanliness and hygiene are maintained through proper storage and processing of food items. Perishable goods are kept at the right temperature, and expired items are promptly removed.

During pandemic situations, wearing masks in supermarkets like Shwapno is mandatory. This further ensures the safety of both customers and staff.

9. Personal Experience

Shopping at this supermarket has both advantages and disadvantages, in my opinion.

Pros:

• Shopping here is pleasant because everything you need is available under one roof, saving both time and effort.

• Shopping trolleys make it easy to carry multiple items.

• Lockers are available for customers, which is helpful if you want to store things temporarily while shopping.

• CCTV cameras make the place secure.

• Products are arranged in specific sections, which makes finding items easy.

• Discounts and offers like “Buy One Get One Free” make shopping more enjoyable.

Cons:

• There is no room for bargaining.

• Some products are more expensive here compared to outside markets.

• Discounts are mostly available for Shwapno’s own brand products; I haven’t seen discounts for popular local brands.

• Sometimes shopping here costs more than buying the same product elsewhere.

• Multiple brands of the same product can make it difficult to decide which one to buy, and sometimes you may end up buying a lower-quality brand by mistake.

Despite these drawbacks, the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. I feel that with a bit of smart shopping, it’s possible to get good value here. Since there are often discounts available throughout the year, shopping here can be very enjoyable.

Although I haven’t shopped extensively at Shwapno in Saidpur yet, I have had good experiences shopping at supermarkets in my town. I would definitely recommend visiting Shwapno for shopping.
