SCS 24, Wordsmiths Fiction #1: The Disappeared Leader

The Captain of a ship with the crew of 10 people became victims of a storm and when everything finally settled they noticed that ship was almost a wreck and stranded to the land. Only in the morning when the sailors and their Captain woke up they noticed that they are on island, that was not big but there was everything the people needed for survival such clean water in a stream, they found that there were couple of small animals and some wild pheasant, but also some palm trees and it was looking like tropical climate. That is why they were pleased with this present that was given them by God.
After first busy day they fall asleep tired and woke up the next morning. There was nice warm morning with clear sky so people had a good mood starting their day. Suddenly, someone asked if anyone has seen a captain, everyone then realized that indeed the captain was not there. While checking the boats they noticed that one boat was not there. What happened, if the captain left a crew and why? If he will ever come back?
In meantime, let’s return to last night and to our captain. After everyone went to sleep last night captain wanted to make sure that everything is alright and everyone is safe. While he looked at clear sky and sound of waves, he got on the boat and lie on the floor of the boat so that he could see the stars. He did not noticed that the boat was not anchored anywhere. While he was lying there, the waves rocked him into sleep. When captain woke up he found himself in open water and there was no island but only endless ocean. He started to blame himself, how stupid he was that he did not think about fixing a boat to the shore, what he will do now?
He was now 3 days on water and was thirsty and tired, sun was strong and he was dehydrated, he only had one wish to die soon so that he does not suffer anymore. Due to dehydration he was not able to realize what is reality and what is not. One moment to another he was seeing his grandfather he was already dead for more than 10 years but he was the one who taught his to be strong and never give up. He encouraged the captain to start paddling toward the North-West and was there to keep him awake. They chatted about everything and the captain felt that it gave him more power and also a little hope. By the morning hours the captain noticed a small island on horizon and could not believe his eyes. That was the same island and he only thought that his grandfather was right once again about the way where to go. Finally he reached island and fallen on the sand. Soon his crew found him and they were pleased that their captain was alive and that he did not leave a crew but it was a bad luck. Now they were altogether again and it was time to fix a ship and time to go back home.
