I changed my SE tokens into steem, no probs. (3 or 4 months back)
What is very interesting is that with this initiative, is the positive response in only 24 hours!
(PLUS bloom gave me a 100% downvote on the post listing all the free rewards back to steem users - what does that tell ya's? Losing control of the systme this way? I dunno, but it convinced me we are on the right track! lol)

I got a few on my last meme cause probably saying that Americans don't eat cats or dogs. Means yes, if you can't have a list like tons of other places do of wanting to support who you want to then it's telling.
