Bireuen Regency Government Holds National Pilgrimage to the Heroes' Cemetery of Colonel (Ret.) Husein Yusuf

As part of the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the Bireuen Regency Government also held a national pilgrimage ceremony to the Heroes' Cemetery (TMP) of Colonel (Ret.) Husein Yusuf and his wife, Second Lieutenant (Ret.) Ummi Salmah.

The national pilgrimage included a wreath-laying ceremony by the ceremony commander, followed by the scattering of flowers by Regent H. Mukhlis, the Chairperson of the Family Welfare Movement (TP-PKK) Sadriah, SKM MKM, and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda). The ceremony took place in Geulumpang Payong Village, Jeumpa District, on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

The ceremony was led by Bireuen Police Chief, AKBP Tuschad Cipta Herdani SIK MMed.Kom, acting as the ceremony inspector, followed by the Commander of the 04 Peudada Military District Command (Danramil 04), First Lieutenant Arh Muhammad Agus Apriansyah, and the ceremony officer, AKP Tarmizi, Chief of the Kota Juang Police.

Participants in the ceremony included Regent H. Mukhlis, ST, Chairman of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRK), Juniadi, officials from the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), the Acting Regional Secretary, assistants, heads of departments, agencies, offices, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), members of the Kartika Chandra Kirana Persit (KCK) of the Bireuen Military District Command (Kodim), the Bireuen Police Department (Bhayangkari), the Family Welfare Movement (TP-PKK), and the Regional Secretariat's Leadership Communication Forum (Prokopim).

Regent H. Mukhlis, ST, after the ceremony, expressed his hope that the event would instill in future generations the importance of not forgetting history, and that this is also part of our culture.

"One way to do this is by regularly holding national pilgrimages to the Heroes' Cemetery to commemorate their struggles," he said.
