Approximately 1 Hectare of Land Burns, Bireuen Firefighters Successfully Extinguish the Fire.
A land fire broke out in Cot Ijue Village, Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at approximately 6:00 PM WIB.
Approximately 1 hectare of land covered in undergrowth burned. Five Bireuen fire trucks were deployed to extinguish the fire at the scene. Officers immediately struggled to extinguish the fire, but strong winds made it difficult for firefighters to douse the flames.
However, a short time later, officers managed to extinguish the fire and bring the situation back under control. There were no casualties in this incident, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
The Commander of the Bireuen Fire Brigade's B Squad, Safrizal, stated after the incident that upon receiving reports of the fire, his team immediately rushed to the scene. Three fire trucks from the Bireuen Main Post, one from the Juli Sub-Post, and one from the Kutablang Post, were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers immediately extinguished the fire to prevent it from spreading. They also cooled the area and ensured there were no remaining fires. The burned area covered over 1 hectare.
Safrizal added that, regarding the frequent fires in the past two weeks, generally involving land, he issued several appeals to the public to increase vigilance and care for their surroundings.
The public was urged not to burn trash carelessly, especially in vacant lots, gardens, or areas prone to fire. If a fire occurs, immediately contact the fire department or the authorities.
