Land fires have again erupted in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, with four fires occurring in one day on Monday, July 28, 2025.

The first fire occurred in Geulumpang Payong Village, Jeumpa District, at approximately 1:15 PM Western Indonesian Time. Approximately one hectare of land, overgrown with shrubs and weeds, burned.

The fire caused panic among local residents, as the fire was located in a residential area.

To extinguish the fire, two fire trucks from the Bireuen City Post and one from the Juli Bireuen Post were deployed to the scene.

According to a local resident, the fire, whose origins were unknown, suddenly grew and spread, engulfing the land. Residents immediately contacted the fire department, who quickly extinguished the fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, restoring the situation to a safe level. There were no casualties, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.

The second incident occurred in Cot Meurak Village, Juli District, where approximately one hectare of grass-covered land caught fire. The fire caused panic among local residents, as the fire was located in a residential area.

The fire, located on the edge of the Bireuen-Takengon Road, briefly disrupted traffic in the area due to thick smoke obscuring road users' visibility.

To extinguish the fire, two fire trucks from the Bireuen City Post and one from the Juli Bireuen Post were deployed to the scene.

In the scorching sun, firefighters struggled to extinguish the flames, but strong winds made the effort difficult. However, a short time later, they successfully extinguished the fire, bringing the situation back under control.

The third and fourth incidents occurred simultaneously, just before dusk. Two land fires occurred in Geulanggang Gampong Village, Kota Juang District, and Teupin Siron Village, Gandapura District, respectively.

"We strongly urge the public to be more careful.

Do not carelessly burn trash or throw cigarette butts in flammable places," he added.
