Hey @aneukpineung78, it’s been a while! Good to hear from you. I want to apologize for how our last meeting went.

While discussing comments on Steemit, I realized that many people are putting in their best effort to make this platform engaging and appealing. However, it seems we may not be fully meeting our potential.

If we look at other social media platforms, we can see that what makes a platform popular is active participation, especially from creators who share high-quality content. Now, looking at our platform, people are doing their best by sharing their personal experiences, daily lives, and passions. Some are even exploring areas we might not have known about before, like trading.

When we check in on the new community, we notice that new members are joining every day and introducing themselves. However, I’ve observed that many of them feel uncomfortable posting after their introductions. If we conducted a survey of active posts versus registered accounts, we would likely see a significant gap between users and active participants.

We should focus on how to make this platform a space where everyone feels comfortable building their own community. This brings me to the topic of curation.

One factor that may discourage content creators is a lack of appreciation for their work. If creators don’t feel valued, they may not be motivated to continue posting. In my opinion, we need to examine how successful creators engage with their audience and also consider how we can support newcomers trying to establish themselves in this space.

My friend mentioned the use of AI, and it seems we are inadvertently following trends from other social media platforms. It appears we might be importing AI-driven comments into the steemit platform, which could lead to inauthentic interactions rather than genuine user engagement.

Yes, I know, I have been so busy lately. I hope all is good on your side.

You are right, active participation is a requirement for the popularity of a social media platform.

I’ve observed that many of them feel uncomfortable posting after their introductions.

Can you suggest any thought about it to answer the question "Why"?

If newcomers experience the same challenges I faced when I first joined, I believe I can help them. One of the best ways to assist newcomers is through mentorship. They are new to the platform, and even though we provide suggestions for posts and guidelines, many may still struggle to understand everything. I'm sharing my experience because I know what I went through.

When I first joined, I was encouraged to participate in a mentorship program, which unfortunately came with a cost. I decided against it and promised to navigate my journey independently. However, I have noticed significant developments on the platform since then. Newcomers can now join Discord to learn more about Steemit. It took me some time to realize that we even had a Discord channel.

I believe we need to question the mentors who referred new users to the platform. What are they doing to help these newcomers progress? I have already gone through it all and managed to figure things out on my own. I learn from various users and share what I’ve learned.

When I see the user @emishael60, it brings me joy because I feel like I did my best to support him through his struggles, just as I experienced my own challenges.
